Description: Pat Webb is a well-known folk musician who played the old Gaslight Square coffee houses and bars. That was quite a scene in those days and after a time of serious 60's partying, Pat married a lady musician he met there. It's no surprise then, that Chris Webb turned out to be a guitar virtuoso on an old family Gibson guitar. Pat is playing a mystically beautiful guitar made by the renowned builder, Ron Volbrecht. The song is original and inspired by calypso which only these two could emulate so well.

That's location audio recorded in their living room.. then lots of set-ups for video a few miles away in this empty old house. Twin sister, Jean (the mandotwin) plays guitar on this one. They live way out in the Piasa River valley of Illinois but travel into St.Louis's old jazz and blues district, Soulard, where their eclectic style makes them a hit.

Description: John performs this song on the boat for which it was written. Over the weekend we traveled on the boat and hundreds of miles by land to get the footage. John and Captain Trane gave their permission for the shoot back in the early days of home video units. Just weeks before his passing, John emailed permission for me to post these videos on our site.

Description: Dale Hanabarger wrote and performs this song. It's based on the historical research by Linda Hanabarger into a remote tombstone for a Civil War Veteran. The war reenactment footage was early work by VideoB at the Battle of Pilot Knob in Missoui. Swamp and Dale overdubbed the audio in studio, Swamp on mandolin and Dale on harmonica.

Description: Backwoods Jack Sophir performs for some actual hoboes at the Britt, Iowa Annual Hobo's convention, rendezvous and memorial. He's performing one Liberty Justice's best songs about bo's. This video was shot by a video documentarian who was good enough to allow us to present it here. One of the ironies in this recording is that Jack is singing 'It's hell on a hobo' when he can't catch a train while sitting next to a former King of the Hobos who lost a leg.

Description: Video footage shot by Jack Sophir (Backwoods Jack) of Liberty Justice, his friend and a former King of The Hobos. Liberty is a natural born songwriter like Hank and Willie. Yes, that's right. His songs come out perfectly conceived, balanced and ready for that great balladeers voice.

Description: Swamp Weiss playing the John Hartford guitar piece. That's my old classical guitar. Swamp had never played it before. We used a wrinkled blue sheet for a blue screen. The guitar is actually resting on my dining room table. Swamp had never played that particular guitar before in his life. No rehearsal. The prairiescape is south of southern Bond County Illinois from whence Swamp hales.
