Dave Toole is the CEO/founder of Outhink. Toole ran the technology company GaSonics, where as CEO he helped to grow revenues from $25M to $250M while globalizing the company and taking the company public. GaSonics took 5 products to the #1 position in their relative markets. He evangelizes social media at conferences, in workshops (MacWorld 2006), Digital Hollywood, OMMA, SXSW and as a board member at UC Santa Barbara's Center for Information Technology and Socitey. Dave is also a musician with a passion for the creative arts.

I am a videoblogger. I am also into collaborating where groups of people make media better than anyone one person could do alone. When I worked in television, everyone had a talent: shooting, editing, producing, music, titles/design. Now we can use a tool like SpinXpress to build a process to make regular content each week. {1} I am a filmmaker. Writer / director / producer. And I'm currently working on a film about race in America, the remnants of colonial days and the possibilities for healing. If you have something to say about race, racism, trauma, inherited legacies -- and want to say it on video -- let me know. I'm looking for contributors.

Megamix Militia merupakan bagian dari proyek riset eksperimental berdurasi dua tahun berjudul "Konvergensi Media dan Teknologi di Indonesia: Sebuah Tinjauan Perspektif Budaya" yang diadakan oleh KUNCI Cultural Studies Center. Proyek ini bertujuan untuk melakukan eskplorasi atas bagaimana budaya lokal mengapropriasi perkembangan media dan teknologi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dan bagaimana praktek keseharian dari teknologi informasi menawarkan kemungkinan dan tantangan baru pada perubahan sosial budaya di Indonesia. Secara khusus, Megamix Militia didesain untuk mengajukan pertanyaan-pertanyaan kritis seputar otentisitas, orisinalitas, kebaruan, serta melakukan eksperimen dan pencarian bentuk-bentuk alternatif produksi budaya dalam konteks perkembangan media dan teknologi yang berperan sebagai salah satu jalur utama produksi, persebaran, dan akumulasi produk pengetahuan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Beberapa musisi dan videomaker akan diundang untuk berpartisipasi dalam melakukan mixing atas musik/video berhak-cipta yang telah ada, saling berbagi mengenai karya yang dikerjakan dan menciptakan sebuah karya yang baru. Diharapkan sekitar 20 musisi/pembuat video akan terlibat dalam kegiatan yang didesain untuk masa kerja dua tahun ini. Jumlah total keseluruhan yang telah diakumulasi akan ditinjau setiap lima bulan. Setiap angkatan terdiri dari lima partisipan dan diharapkan untuk menghasilkan karya dengan mengapropriasi musik/video yang tersedia. Pada tahap akhir, semua musik yang diproduksi akan dirilis dalam album kompilasi Music Beyond No Borders oleh Yes No Wave Music (www.yesnowave.com). Sementara semua video yang diproduksi akan dirilis dalam kompilasi Video Battle (www.video-battle.net). Durasi: 4 x 5 bulan (September 2009-September 2011)
