I'm the master guru studio guy! Not too cocky, eh?
Mid 70's Started with Myco (owned by Robert Champagne) and built products for Gasonics. Two years later was rolled into Gasonics. Worked the production line / Final Test / Field Support / QA / And Application Support during my 15 years with Gasonics. In 1990 I changed careers and folded my radio hobby into a new job. Maintained the WR USGS Microwave, UHF and VHF networks for 6 years, then moved into IT. Was responsible for WR LAN/WAN for 6 years. Currently in IT Security managing content control, CSIRT and some forensics.
I'm a music fan living in Chicagoland. My mom started teaching us to sing harmony from an early age. I taught myself piano starting about age 13, fell in love with acapella music and have enjoyed music ever since.
"The aim and final reason of all music should be none else but the Glory of God" J.S. Bach.
My name is Johnathan J. Stegeman/MidiMacMan, and I am a composer, web master, photographer, graphic artist, and freelance writer from Denver, Colorado.
I am have been playing the piano since age five, and while I have had no classical or "formal" piano training, my self taught technique has been shaped mostly by ear, and my love for improvisational styles mixed in with fundamental theories about chord structures and harmonies. Without writing music, I wouldn't feel but maybe a fraction of the person I am.
For music is my greatest passion, and therefore greatest source of sorrow, despair and frustration at times. It has occurred to me that my songs may be loved by even just a few other souls, after I have passed through this human existence. Sadly this happens to many more artists that you may have ever imagined.
However, they never give up their motivation, as if forced by a ethereal force to continue their artistic expression. Almost a curse it can feel at times, but I don't think that any artist, whether successful, or not, would trade in this unseen force for anything in the world. I know for example: I would not trade my sense of hearing in for my sense of sight. But what a foolish bargain most people would agree. I cannot help the fact that my music is so much of me.
Only in the last two years, and after great rejection by the music world, despite rigorous study through high school, and three years of study at the University of Colorado at Denver, have I taken up other artistic expressions. Web Design, Graphic Design, Freelance writing, and even advertising and product development are skills that I had no real training with, even through college. These skills have been fashioned through my own quest for knowledge, and are quite immature in development stages. Yet I am proud of where I have come, especially for the skills I have learned on my own.
What it has taught me, is that the world is anyone's oyster, and you can harvest whatever riches you may admire with work and with the simplest desire.
Thanks for noticing perhaps something in my work. It all adds up to make all my effort have some final worth.
Yours Always,
Johnathan J. Stegeman/MidiMacMan.

In university at the moment studying Digital Video Design (3 year course). Just came off a two year National Diploma in Art and Design course.
Currently enrolled at Ex'pression College for Digital Arts in Emeryville, CA. Current focus is sound effects for movies and video games.
Wreck & Salvage is a joint effort among 4 other independent video producers and myself. We produce a bi-weekly video podcast featuring original comedy and entertainment videos and animations.
I developed the web site wreckandsalvage.com using Wordpress, PHP, XHTML/CSS, and some Javascript. I hacked Wordpress to generate different RSS 2.0 compliant feeds for each of our 3 media formats.
On the video side, I produce the series Ornamental Concrete that airs on Wreck & Salvage every other Thursday using a mix of live action and stop-motion animation, with homemade sets, scripts, and 3-point lighting setup.
I grab frames for animation in StopMotion Pro, edit in Adobe Premiere, capture audio in Sony Sound Forge, and occasionally add extra stuff in After Effects.

Acoustic guitar - 1 track for Emily's song entiled Fly. This was cut with a Rode NTK tube mic, see what you think of this sound. I have mixed feelings about it in light of what you described you were looking for. You may love it? Give it a try in your mix and if it's not working for you, just let me know and I'll recut that with a little signal path.
In the GRAMMY U Multi-Media Contest, each contestant will upload media content to an open source site (SpinXpress), and then select from this site various audio and visual clips to compile, edit and mix into their own 3-minute film for evaluation. The winner will deliver the best 3-minute audio-visual montage project addressing one of two themes: music education or philanthropy. All footage in the final project will be provided in the open source database of SpinXpress. Audio students should upload audio tracks and video students should upload video/animation tracks for their entry; the copyright of all clips should be owned by the student uploading them, and all content used in the contest will be only used for the duration of the contest. Contestants can collaborate with other contestants in the composition of their final project (See official rules for details). Five finalists will be selected by a panel of industry experts in early June 2007, after the contest has closed. All final entries will then be viewed at an industry GRAMMY U event (date TBD), with another panel of judges providing live feedback and deciding on the final winner, who will take home the Grand Prize.
